Edward Gorey
About the book
The perfectly creepy, amusing book that inspired Tim Burton, Neil Gaiman and Guillermo Del Toro.
A is for AMY who fell down the stairs
B is for BASIL assaulted by bears
C is for CLARA who wasted away...
... and so it goes on, an A to Z of poor little orphans and their untimely ends. (Right up to the unfortunate ZILLA, who simply drank too much gin.)
This collector's edition of Edward Gorey's pocket-sized masterpiece comes in a special slipcase with ribbon.
Published on by Bloomsbury Publishing.
This book has 64 pages and is a Hardcover.
Be Notified When This Piece Becomes Available
We sell both brand-new books and pre-loved treasures through our secondhand imprint, Second Chapter. Every book is clearly labelled with its condition:
- Newly Summoned — Brand new, untouched by mortal hands. Fresh from the publisher.
- Barely Haunted — Pre-loved but in lovely condition. Light shelf wear at most; any previous owner left barely a trace.
- Clearly Haunted — A book that's lived a little. Expect visible wear — creased spines, tanned pages or scuffed corners — but fully readable and full of character.
- Exorcism Needed — Heavily worn and priced accordingly. These books have stories beyond the one printed inside. Perfect for readers who love a battle-scarred companion (or crafters after materials).
