Julia Donaldson
About the book
A very funny story of quick wits and friendship, The Room on the Broom is another smash hit from the unparalleled picture book partnership of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, creators of The Gruffalo.
The witch and her cat fly happily over forests, rivers and mountains on their broomstick until a stormy wind blows away the witch''s hat, bow and wand. Luckily, they are retrieved by a dog, a bird and a frog, who are all keen for a ride on the broom. It''s a case of the more, the merrier, but the broomstick isn''t used to such a heavy load and it''s not long before . . . SNAP! It breaks in two! And with a greedy dragon looking for a snack, the witch''s animal pals better think fast!
Ideal for use in the classroom, Room on the Broom Big Book is a very funny story perfect for reading aloud. Children will be captivated by Julia Donaldson''s irresistible verse and Axel Scheffler''s spectacular illustrations.

We sell both brand-new books and pre-loved treasures through our secondhand imprint, Second Chapter. Every book is clearly labelled with its condition:
- Newly Summoned — Brand new, untouched by mortal hands. Fresh from the publisher.
- Barely Haunted — Pre-loved but in lovely condition. Light shelf wear at most; any previous owner left barely a trace.
- Clearly Haunted — A book that's lived a little. Expect visible wear — creased spines, tanned pages or scuffed corners — but fully readable and full of character.
- Exorcism Needed — Heavily worn and priced accordingly. These books have stories beyond the one printed inside. Perfect for readers who love a battle-scarred companion (or crafters after materials).
